[V8] coolant gauge and fuel gauge problem

That would be me ;-)

I know it really needs to be added to the knowledgebase.  When I was
orginally going to do so, twiki was not letting anyone post (shortly
after the meltdown last November??  Still having problems posting  
anything to Audi twiki -- tried earlier this week.
