My V8 5 speed has had 2 new oil pump bearings within the last year. First
time I thought it wasn't replaced when t-belt was done before I purchased
vehicle. Second one was when the noise DIDN'T go away after putting in all
new timing belt components, including oil pump bearing, and I thought the
new one I installed was bad. Needless to say, the noise is still there.
I think I am going to TRY the oil pump first based on Keith's
recommendation, and move on from there if it doesn't go away. 32 new
lifters aint cheap for this baby, even though all the labor is free.
