[V8] catalytic converter removal?

... I wonder why this point was specifically made ... are you
recommending that the cat temp sensor be left under the car even though
the cat is gone?  Why is that needed?

My '91 V8Q 5-speed (AKA #2) had a temp sensor that would blink the dash
light on and off every so often.  I found that everything worked just
fine after I unplugged the control module in the relay box under the
passenger's footwell (is it under the driver's footwell in the RHD
cars?).  I don't remember the details, but I also recall that there was
a quick disconnect right where the sensor wire went through the
underbody of the car into the passenger compartment.
