[V8] new gearbox!

Well

after much soul searching and even more parting of hard cash, I've had my
auto box rebuilt.

It is now smoother than a smooth thing from smoothsville!

However.. After driving my mates V8 for a couple of days and then driving
mine after the rebuild. I have discovered that mine still changes gear
earlier (4900 rpm in "E" & 5500rpm in "S") than his.

My mates throttle pedal feels different to mine, in so far as it has a
second stage " mechanical" kick down feel.

How does the kickdown function work on a V8? is it all done on TPS or is
there a mechanical aspect?

If I hold it in each gear it Flies.. but it doesn't seem to change down when
yo most need it to :-(

P.S took the Cats out while the box was out.. sounds much better! Might be
faster.. probably slower.. who cares!!!

any thoughts ..

regards

Pete
