Well I have confirmed that the kick down switch is working (or at least the 
Climate control unit is getting a signal on channel 17)
However just tried to clear the error codes (VAG -COM) and  its coming up 
with " too many communication errors to continue"

Is the Tranny control unit dead or at least gone mad?

anyone had this before?
