After putting on almost 550 trouble free miles in crappy NE and Canadian
weather yesterday the V8 developed a hiccup. Cruising along at 50 MPH or
so, in the crap, when I stepped on the gas there was a response EXACTLY
like running out of gas. The revs dropped and only a more purposeful
depression of the accelerator caused the tranny to step down and the car
accelerated. This came and went over the last 150 miles of my trip. Did
not seem to happen if I could get over 60 MPH and stay there. Was gone for
the last 15 miles of in city driving. I chalked it up to alot of wet salty
crap getting into the car on the trip. This AM, the car started out and
ran fine till I hit city traffic (car warmed up) then the same thing, only
now it dies ala low tranny fluid symptoms, car always restarts but from the
clues, it could be ignition, fuel , all components of which are 10,000
miles old,or electrical . any BTDT appreciated.
Mike
