[V8] So what is bad/going bad here - Temp gauge pegged on overheat?

Well, yes, for the other stuff -- which still works perfectly. Went
over it again yesterday looking for any suspicious spots, but
couldn't find any. Applied some DeOxit to all of the pins. As I
believe Dave Head explained a few years back, the newer (92?+)
Instrument clusters were changed in that many of the multiple pin
contacts between the front and back circuit boards were eliminated in
favor of soldered mylar encapsulated ribbons -- likely to prevent
problems due to oxidized/cracking solder joints and pins. Will check
for any change tonight. Did lots of test driving yesterday. Man, I
love this car!
