[V8] High-milage V8

Hello. Well I'm about to put about $1500 into my V8 and it got me thinking 
will it be worthwhile. A few fellow Audi fans told me the V8 engine wasn't 
like the 5 cyl. that could go well over 250k. I'm wondering, if taken care 
of and such, how long will this engine last me? I'm at 206k right now and 
it's got a few leaks here and there and does burn a little oil as well (puff 
of blue smoke at start up), but otherwise it runs great. It's a great car 
and I'd like to spruce it up and fix the small problems it has, but will it 
be worth it if I have to have the engine rebuilt soon? I'm gonna be in my 
3rd year of college this fall and will not have much money to spend, so I'm 
just looking to plan ahead. Any imput will be appreciated! :)
