[V8] Engine is out!

I'm a bit foggy on it right now, but I'm fairly certain I disconnected
the exhaust at the headers and was able to lift the motor out from the
bell housing and up out -- though the clearance was minimal at best.
And that was without removing the rad support or bumper.
Were your motor mounts collapsed? Was the front one broken?
I have not had to track down a starter/solenoid set up for my manual
trans car, though if you know a reputable generator shop, I'd opt that
route.
And FYI, changing over from a fully functioning R12 system to 134 had no
ill effects.
Wish I could remember the head bolt tool -- I'm pretty sure it's the
same one I use on the Mk1 VW, i.e. 12-pt. whatever mm. I'll say this
-- when it comes time to torque the head bolts, you're gonna crap your
pants at what it takes.
Wait -- as I think about it... I remember tightening the exhaust header
bolts after the motor was back in the car, so now I'm not sure if I just
blew it by not installing them back on the motor before reinstallation,
or what. Either way, the downpipes had to be disconnected.
With little to no actual intel,
DaveC.
