There are two bolts that are a PAIN to say the least!!. They are 4mm allen,
and they come out about 1/8 turn at a time. You will get to them with the
glovebox open. I'm not sure ir you can see them or not, it seems like the
right one you can, but not the left. The left one is above the smaller
compartment in the glovebox. Oh, and you don't have to pull them out all the
way, when they are both loose, slide the glovebox toward the right side of
the car.
When putting it back together, it's a pain without a helper. Here's what I
do to make it easier. I pull the screw out that holds the center console in
place. It is accessed by a hole in the side of the glovebox. Basically, when
you are in teh pass seat, open the glovebox, and look toward the top of the
intersection of the console/glovebox/wood trim. You should see it. Anyhow, I
put a longer screw of the same threads in there with a large washer on it to
catch the edge of the hole in the glovebox. It's too big otherwise for the
screw to catch it. I screw it in while guiding the glovebox over and holding
it up. Be careful not to go too tight, though. The threads for that screw
are into the magnesium, and are pretty soft. They, I tighten the two top
screws, and replace the "helper" screw with the factory one.
Hope that helps,
Tony Hoffman
