[V8] Transmission not in 4th gear, flaky gear indicator ++

Thanks a lot for your tip. I agree, it looks like the multifunction switch. The transmission will shift into 4th one time after disconnecting the battery, and then refuse to shift into 4th until I disconnect the battery again.

It will not go into limp home-mode, as it shifts through 1st, 2nd and 3rd just fine. I will pull the codes later today to see if I get a fault code.

The transmission is leaking badly too, but it appears like most of the oil is coming from the oil pan gasket. We plan on doing a oil/filter change before the car is used anymore anyway, so I guess that will take care of the leak(s).

The transmission is rattling from the center section just in front of the oil pan, it does not sound good at all. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Does noe sound good at all, but it seems not to influenve anything..
