[V8] Transmission not in 4th gear, flaky gear indicator ++

Eyvind,
I cannot imagine the transmission rattling in any way without
damage. Maybe it's the heat shielding in the exhaust crossover pipe
just in front of the transmission pan that's making all that noise?
I hope that's the case for your friend. As to your 4th gear problem,
I also believe it likely to be that multifunction switch or
adjustment of the switch.
