try putting test pipes in there.  maybe your old car had different (brand
of) cats.  the physical style may have been different causing less of build
up of pressure in the cats.  i know when i gutted my 4ksq cat, the mileage
went down.  put a new cat on, went right back up.  strange yes.  but tis
true.

check it out.  as i mentioned to u in another email, this happened to me.
was a sharp exhaust guy that caught it.


fyi, what he did was INGENIOUS.  he burned a hole pre and post cat, then pre
and post muffler.  held an engine pressure gauge up to the hole and watched
the needle.  sure enough, on the plugged side, the needled really jumped
around.  on the down side, post plug, it barely moved.
