[V8] Flaky ECU Communication

I picked up a distributor from a VW 4cyl motor way back when and
noticed that the hall sensor/pickup was pretty much the same as on
the V8. I don't remember the details now but it seemed that you could
remove the parts from one and put them on the other. You may need the
services of a machine shop to press on/off various bits, but if you
pick up a good donar for cheap who knows - you may get lucky. Be sure
to get the connector too if they are different, and you have to
verify the pinout.

btw, I got a set of distributors for my motor from a Canadian salvage
yard for cheap too. As I recall, I got both distributors and the
electric cooling fan for under $100US shipped - and it turned out
that the fan was brand spanking new!
Those things are crazy expensive now - if you can even get one from
the dealer.
