... if you hear the flasher operate it indicates that the column switch is
working. On one of my cars I found that the odd behavior of the blinkers
was due to a bad 4-way flasher switch ... you may want to look there.
Best bet is to go to the wiring diagram and see where the lights connect ...
especially the dash indicators ... looking at what works and what doesn't in
terms of the circuit paths for power and the 4-way switch might give some
good clues.

The 4-way flashers work and all the bulbs are good.
When I put the blinker on the flasher?relay clicks (under the dash) but no
blinker indicators light and the bulbs don't light.
It clicks at a fast rate.
I replaced the flasher relay but nothing changed.
When I put the 4-way flashers on all the bulbs light up and work properly.
Am I missing something simple?? could it be in the steering column?? Fuses?
