[V8] V8 engine removal help - starter?

Gents,

Got the engine mostly pulled - wiring harness is out for both the tranny and engine, whole front end is removed, subframe is dropped, rear driveshaft removed, tranny mounts undone, exhaust out to headers, motor mounts undone, tranny cooler out, alternator and ac pump removed.  Pulled all the bolts that connect the engine and tranny, pulled the 17 on the bottom of the starter and the 13 holding the wires, and now I'm stuck - literally.  Can't get the starter off, and can't pull the pass. side motor mount bracket because the starter is in the way.  So, what's holding the starter in?  I can't see/get to another bolt.  

So,what's the starter removal proceedure?  Alldata suggests removing all the bolts, then reversing for install.  Thanks.  The Audi mechanic that was helping me (who also owns 2 V8s) was stumped just like me.  Can't pull the motor forward because it hits all the mounts.  Can't go back.  Can't go down and can't come up from what I can see.  

Any constructive suggestions are much appreciated.  Any pics would also be useful!
