[V8] Estimated Value of '91 5-speed w/4.2?

... got a call from Gerry again today ... it looks as though any previous
transactions on his car fell through and his car is sitting around unused.
He was asking me what I thought he should be able to expect for his car ...
it is a real 5-speed V8Q which has had a 4.2 engine dropped in.  He tells me
that the cosmetics (especially paint) are a bit rough, but mechanically the
car is in fine shape.  The car was originally a California car and it has
passed smog with the 4.2.  I have absolutely no clue how much cars like this
are going for ... I'm sure it is less than it should be.  While commuting
today I sat behind a 1991 Nissan sedan with a for sale plate in the window
... they are asking $4500 for it!?!  I can't believe that people familiar
with what an Audi 5-speed V8Q is who aren't even willing to pay $3000 for
one.
