[V8] V8 and 200 Instrument Clusters Are Quite Different

There are well documented solutions for the speedo problem on the 200 ... I think Chris Miller's site is the place I'd recommend looking ... in addition to the weakness in the flexible printed wiring board the connections at the speedo unit itself can cause a problem that DeoxIt (or equiv) can probably fix.
The design of the V8's instrument cluster is not even close to that of the 200. In the V8 there are probably a half dozen rigid circuit boards interconnected by cables and stake pins. I'd estimate that the V8's IC is two orders of magnitude more complex than that in the 200. Speedo flakiness is also well known on the V8 IC, but the culprits are not likely to be the same.
