[V8] wiper washers

My windshield washers do not work on cold weather. I thought it was ice accumulated on top of the nozzles, so I parked the car in the garage and made sure there was no ice and everything worked. When I hit the road and exposed the car to cold weather, nothing, no spray. Is this a problem with the v8? I don't recall having this issue with my 1987 5000cs turbo or my 1993 90cs. Once again, I besech the wisdom of the listers.
