[V8] Odd windshield wipers...or maybe just a cranky old Audi?

It is possible that both arms slipped the exact same amount, but also
check the main crank arm at the wiper motor. If both arms are still
properly positioned relative to each other, the loose joint is probably at
the motor crank. BTDT. 

Also an easy fix, but you have to take
off the rain shield over the wiper motor. Good time to clean out the drain
holes and such while you are in there...
