[V8] A/C charging

Hellow, Hellow, anybody still listening?  I sent this about the time the list apparently fell apart.  I've received a couple messages from June 29, so I presume we're back in business but whatever was sent in the interim is lost????
   
  So here's my query:
   
    Is the 90 V8 A/C low pressure (fill) spout the one on the back of the compressor assembly, sort of angled toward the driver side front tire?
   
  Is the high pressure connection the one in the fixture with the receiver/dryer cannister?  
   
  If I'm low on refrigerant, do I have to jumper something to get the compressor clutch engaged and turning the compressor? I can't get it to cycle on and off.  The electric fan comes on when I set the climate control head to A/C on Low, but I don't see in my gauges that the compressor is starting and stopping.
   
  I'm using Enviro-Safe's R12 replacement refrigerant, which has worked fine for my 200q20v.
