Yup, NH makes drivers in it's neighboring states pay extra for "uninsured
motorist coverage" for when the "trailor" hitch pulls the rear quarter
off some inbred hicks uninsured POS rust bucket Eagle and slams into your
new truck with 500 miles on the ODO. Happened to my tax guy Sunday
morning. Knowing this state (MA), he'll probably be receiving an
insurance surcharge notice as icing on the cake.
What's he going to do? Sue the guy for his beer can sculptures in the
trailer park?

One good thing though, NH does require motorists to carry insurance after
they've had an accident, doesn't always work though since some just
register the car ($50 fee) in some relatives name.

I suspect that the majority of Granite State drivers opt for at least
liability insurance whether required or not. Most rational people get
homeowners, life etc. insurance even though they're not compelled to, why
would auto be any different?
