No the T belt Damper is fine .
But I agree that the serpentine damper will have to be replaced 4 sure .

This sounds like a problem in the making to me.
The
"damper" is just that - a small shock absorber so if it moves freely it is broken and not doing its intended job. Same applies to the t-belt damper. If it is sloppy/loose it is not working like it is supposed to.
I would replace it if I was you.
