[V8] Euro Headlights

Why is that? The connectors inside the MB parts are very similar to the
spade connectors you can buy ar Flaps. They are also exactly the same design
as the plugs on the relays I bought aftermarket, just that the relay plugs
are all in one holder (one plug for the relay, that is). I can't imagine the
flat side of a lpade plus the edges of the two blades are inadequate. Heck,
this is what the fans use on new beetles and Jetta's. They are rated at 30
amps, each. 100W high beams are only about 16 amps.

Oh, and I've been running mine with those relay sockets and 100w high beams
in factory housings for about three years. No problems yet, and I use the
high beams a LOT. I live in the country, BTW :) More deer traffic than car
traffic.

... I would recommend against doing this sort of thing. Headlamps do draw a
few amps of current *and* they generate heat on their own. It may work for
a while, but eventually the heat will cause the connection to deteriorate
and at least dim the light from your new lights ... and at worst cause a
fire ...

I see Euro lamps sets going for $400 and up ... why not make the effort to
get the appropriate connectors for the bulbs?

If you need something for a short term solution you might consider this ...
but don't expect to leave this on for the long term.
