I re did all my speakers last year and the hardest part of this job it
getting the little nuts back on to the back of the speakers . I had them
out to replace all the CAPs , now the system works like new again, no
pops , no squeezzz and No possible fire .

Subject: [V8] Rear Speakers KB?
Pulled my rear speakers today. It's almost too easy for a KB entry, but
I thought I'd save some folks some trouble.
Tools Needed:
7mm socket or driver
Flatblade screwdriver
There are four nuts (with two washers each) holding up the lower speaker
and amp housing. There's a flat washer, a lock washer, and the nut.
They like to fly in different directions after the nut is loose, so pay
attention. The right speaker is pretty simple. I had to use a
flatblade screwdriver to undo the electrical connector. Wiggle it back
and forth and pry very gently on the tabs.
The left rear speaker has a nut that's a bit hard to get to. Pull the
rear carpeting on the floor and the wheel well/fender to get a tool up
in there. I'm contemplating whether or not to put that nut back on when
I reassemble.
Speaker housing will probably fall on your face after the last nut is
out. There's a small gasket that may stick to the upper housing or may
come down with the speaker unit.
Do not try this on a windy day, as the wind will blow the trunk lid down
and it will smash into your shins.
