Daniel, 1st off WELCOME!

As far as overheating...most common problem would be
the radiator being clogged. How high do the temps get
in traffic?
When looking at the rad is it painted Black..or is it
Aluminum/Silver in color? Black means it would be the
original rad..The later means the rad has been
replaced.
You mentioned the viscous clutch fan not running? If
you can grab it & stop it while the car is
running....the fan bearing is bad.
That could be the cause.
Does the rad fan work? There are ways to check to see
if it runs on all 3 spds. The knowlegbase has a
writeup I think. But it involves bridging the
terminals at the rad switch on the lower pass side of
the rad.

But the $smart $$ is on the rad being clogged.
& if that's the case ALL RADS AREN'T CREATED EQUAL!!
Go OE for this. Aftermarket cheap rads at your local
FLAPS (friendly local auto parts store) won't work..so
don't try.

Just mention to him that your an enthusiast & he'll
give you a good deal. Bruce is a very fair guy..cause
he's an nut job when it comes to these cars, just like
the rest of us...some more so than others ;->

 Halliburton huh.....

 Hope this helps
