[V8] My "Top Speed" Story....

what is scary to me is HOW people drive when they drive fast. I am in my
30s now and have moved to california where there are to many people driving
without any sense in cars that should never be driven that fast. when i was
growing up and learned to drive, i did so in the pacific northwest. rural
esatern WA to be exact. in my previous years, i did things i should NEVER
have done. thankfully i am still hear to talk about it. when i moved to
california, i was hit 4 times in about a month (lol, one of which was on the
way home from the body shop in the car that had just been repaired).
EVERYONE of the accidents was someone else's fault (except one was a freak
of mother nature accident where the wind blew a road sign on my car). what
is scary to me is watching people rolling along at 90+ MPH while watching
TV!!! YES! TV! they slouch back in their seats, drive big old boats or
suvs that have a 100 or 110 MPH top speed driving in a fashion that not even
a drunk walter rohl would imitate. ultimately, it is my opinion that the
driver must first know his or her limits. then, know the limits of his or
her vehicle. AND, keep that vehicle at its peak. IMO, never sacrifice or
skimp on a safety repair. for example, i had a blow out on a NEW set of
tires on a vehicle i was driving a few years back. one of the tires had
just been plugged and patched. i lost that tire. the vehicle nearly
flipped. And, i was not doing anything crazy. just driving down the
highway at a few mph over the 70 speed limit. NEVER AGAIN will i plug and
patch a tire. Yes, to get me home i will...if i have to. but it goes in
the trash after that. I replace it. if the tread depth is of great
disparity to the others, i replace the set. a few hundred $$ is not worth
my or my loved ones lives. to close, don't misunderstand this me stating it
is okay to break the laws of the rude. i am saying if people choose to, do
it in a manner which is safe and DOES NOT put others at risk.
