[V8] Starter Question

Yup, that's so true.  As soon as you get rid of it, you find a use for it.

I did basically the same thing, but without a gear wrench.  I removed
the allen bit from a 10mm allen socket and used a 10mm box end wrench
with an Audi lug wrench over the end for more leverage.  After you
figure out the top bolt, the job really isn't that bad.  It's the
memories I guess. Or maybe it was the bitter cold in the garage during
the time I had to do this.
