[V8] Handfull 'o questions...

For the trans fluid, I did four quarts of M1 plus a bottle of red 
LubeGard (put it in first).  What Scott says makes sense and I do the 
good ol' "shoulda had a V8" donk onto the forehead.  But I did change it 
3 times and plan on a fourth sometime to do the filter.

What all is involved when changing the filter?

I've seen remann'ed ZF4HP22's lately for about $2500.  I can get you 
one.  I know a guy who knows a guy.  Fell off a truck.
