[V8] overheating again

Did you flush the system after removing the original radiator and before installing the new one?

Today in traffic I sat and watched the temp climb up to the 140 mark. Could this really be another clogged rad this early in the game. My question is when I put the heater on it blows almost cold certainly not hot.. It was about 45 today am I looking at a clogged heater core would it cause my car to overheat like that.?
