[V8] Headlight wipers and intensive washer

... do you know how they are supposed to work? I'm talking about the
headlight washers ... I'm pretty sure they only run when the wipers are on
AND headlights are on. IME the headlight wipers are the flakiest part on
the V8 ... I've got them unplugged on both cars. Well, I had them plugged
in on #344 until just recently ... whenever the ignition was on I heard some
buzzing sound like a proportioning valve under the hood ... checked it out
one day and it was the stupid headlight wiper!
Audi washers seem to have an Achilles Heel in the check valves ... well,
actually the pumps get weak and can't pump enough pressure to open the check
valve. The plumbing is actually pretty cool ... the pump for the intensive
circuit drives one side of the hood and the one for the regular washers is
connected to the other ... with a check valve at either end of the hood.
Follow the hoses around ... they're getting brittle on my '91s, probably the
same for you ... perhaps the problem is a broken line. Depending on what
you or the Pos have put in the intensive reservoir it may have gotten gummed
up ...

I have a 1990 V8. The windshield wipers and washer work great.
I cant get the headlight wipers or washer to work and the intensive washer
does not work.
I have checked the fuses and the headlight motors on each side are hooked up
right.
Is it probably a relay that is bad?
