Which is why I tell everyone that chooses "old car ownership", if you are
going to own an old car, own a spare. Always. That makes things much less
painfull when you are working on your car at 6pm on Sunday, and you have the
option of grilling that steak and enjoying it, and finishing the car Mon or
Tues night. Or, the option of skiipping the steak and working on the car
till 11PM!!
I'll take the first. Of course, being a Mechanic, I have a ton of extra
cars, and none of them run!! Thank God my sister left her car here ;-)
Anyhow, Greg, you are on the right track. I'll have to day I agree with
Dave, but if you need the car, fix what you can right now. BTW, if you love
the V8, get a boring car (Toyota-yawn) for the backup. That way you can
dedicate yourself to the repairs of the V8, and have a great one. Instead of
having to constantly work on two old cars :(
