[V8] other trans problems

So what do you guys make of this:  I started my car today and immediately
noticed that the (automatic) transmission indicator lights all came on at
once and stayed lit.  When I started driving there was no power as if the
transmission was slipping.  It was like trying to accelerate in 3rd.

I drove the short distance to my work and parked it.  After work everything
functioned normally again.

Is there a computer that controls the transmission that could have had an
aneurysm or something?  I'm concerned that it's an indication of something
about to fail permanently.
