This is due to degenerated Caps . I pulled all my speakers out and
replaced the Caps. It was a fun Job .... I do have the instructions /
procedure to do this .... Do you want me to look for it ?
It brought the sound back to factory .
Cheers superdave

When I turn-on my radio I get a loud high pitched tone, I can just
detect the station beneath the tone. Is this woofer self-oscillation
due to degenerated electrolytic capacitors? Any BTDT experience
appreciated.
