[V8] Metal Heater Control Valves?

I found that my latest coolant leak on #2 is the plastic valve I left in
when I did the heater core and fan ... because the metal valve had a big
offset between the inlet and outlet and I couldn't make it work.  I went to
a FLAPS and Kragen to see if I couldn't find an aftermarket unit that would
fit.  Looks like they don't leave these things out on the wall any more ... 

I thought I'd post up to see if anyone's recently found a source for metal
valves that are a better fit for the V8 ... before I go and buy the
"correct" part.
