I agree completely with the comments on ROI for the V8 (and wife) vs. andoH.
The thing is are we talking about a 18 year old Honda here? I suspect the
answer is no. I see a lot more older Hondas and Toyotas sitting on the side
of the road than I see Audis (yes, I know that there are a bunch more of
them out there, but hopefully you see my point). If you had a newer Audi
you would probably seeing better reliability too. I keep thinking about all
the extra costs of owning a new (or newer) car and keep coming back to
maintaining status quo. Yes, my hands are still showing the signs of having
to replace a heater valve over the weekend ... but insurance, license, etc.
are a lot cheaper.
All that said, I've been considering a new car as well. Frankly, I don't
see anything that I care for from adnoH ... but I must say that VW EOS looks
pretty nice ... DSG and FSI ... in a hard topped convertible ... I actually
am considering parting with one of the V8s to get something a bit more
practical, but I don't see myself getting rid of both of them ...

==========
Point is there are different cars for different situations. I drive 5 miles
to and from work a
day - I drive the v8 with the assumption that it will leave me stranded one
day and I will have to
tow it and work on it - but I love it. If I had to drive many miles from
home or didn't love the
v8 I would trade it on a honda accord (or the like).
By the way - my next car purchase - a honda.
