[V8] V8 vs. andoH

Hi Steve, 
 
Long time...hope all is well with you.
 
As to the newer Audis....I have an A8 and let me tell you about some of the problems these cars see:  persistent failure of hoses (in hard to reach areas); thermostat failures (basically you have to get down to the timing belt to replace); tie-rod end failures; front lower and upper control arm failures; and, worst of all, transmission failures.  Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful and luxurious car, but it seems that there are some areas of weak design--far more than the V8Q ever had in my opinion.  
 
A friend of mine has a 2001 A6 2.7TT--talk about a car with niggling problems.  
 
I don't have much experience with other brands, but from everybody I speak to Mercedes are far less reliable than Audis.
 
Anyhow, just my $.02
