If the lock cylinder has a snap ring like this:

And not an e-clip like this:

Then the lock linkage has been changed, right?

Factory Manuals depict an e-clip, and I think that's what my (broken) 
passenger side has.  Took apart driver's door to see if it had ever been 
changed and visual inspection of the linkage results is inconclusive in 
regards to pot metal vs stamped steel.  But it definitely has a snap ring.

And the driver's would break before the passengers, right?
