[V8] What's the value of a catalytic converter?

I regularly sell universal "economy" cats for about $80. They're
universal in the sense that you have to clamp (or, more likely, weld) it
onto the pipe but I'm not sure what makes them "economy" versus the
"premium" that goes for $70 more.
We're in Western Kansas out here, nobody gives a crap if you have
emission stuff, let alone exhaust! But the one reason that I am glad
the V8 sits 4" off the ground is the inability for theives to walk off
with my kitties.
