I've done this for several times now and the best solution is to remove 
both carpets and the wooden cover (CAREFUL - you have to move it to the 
front and then up, otherwise you brake it or cause damage to the 
anchorage (after you've pulled out the SEM-Key with a caliper and 
unscrewed the small screw in there)). Then you loose the screws locating 
the middle tunnel/console between the seats and just raise it a bit - 
that should provide you with enough margin to exchange the bulb. It sits 
on the backside of the gearbox. Careful - don't brake it ;). And obtain 
somebody with thin fingers.... and have patience.
