Don't assume anything fits UFO's until you bolt them up. I find it's the
design of the spoke and actual offset that dictates clearance, more than brand.
The speedo error should be minimal if measurable. I put 255/40 on 17 x8.5
(30 et and spoke design just cleared ufos) and my speedo didn't change
enough to be a concern. The 215/55 16 on 7's should actually put down a smaller
measureable footprint than on the 7.5 rim IME/O. You should have no trouble
with sheet metal clearance. I tend to try to go as wide on the wheel width as
I can, and find cornering to be a bit less as the width comes in. That
said, with .5in difference, tires could make up for that decrease.

I have more information on these potential wheels for my V8.

They are Borbet wheels, and supposedly ten spoke wheels. I am assuming that
they came from Tirerack, as that is where the seller said that he always
buys his tires. The tires are Dunlop A2+ somethingorothers, which are
probably the same tire, updated, that were on the Fuchs wheels that I bought
for my wife's 100CS Avant a couple of winters ago.

The tire size is 215/55/16. So the aspect ratio is the same as the tires on
the V8 now, and the speedometer error should be small. Maybe acceptable.

The only problem that I can foresee, assuming the wheels aren't scuffed to
bits, is that they are seven inch, instead of seven and a half. At least
that is what the guy read off the wheels to me on the telephone.

Because of other commitments, I can't go and actually see these wheels/tires
until later in the week, but it would seem:

1. They will fit without problem, over the UFO's.
2. They will not interfere with the sheetmetal openings either
front or rear.
3. They will not create a terrific and unacceptable speedometer
error.
4. They will probably be a lot lighter than the Aero wheels on the
car at the moment.
5. Maybe a whole bunch of other things that I don't know about.

I am assuming at this point, that these are silver in color and not
dark...dark will probably be ruled out on principal, but I'll know more late
this week.

Worst case, I will have to break down and buy some new gizzie BBS wheels,
and will have th eBorbets for sale to someone else.
