[V8] PRND12 or IGN

thanks Ingo that is a good idea ... as the battery was out of the car, I haven't set the key up to unlock automatically . other areas that it could be are.
1) low battery
2) starter connections corroded
 
so I think I will give the battery a good charge first then set the key up to open using the infrared and then try again.
