Wana take a ride in my 85 4000Q with stock DOT's?? I'll change your mind. 
They are even worse than the 88 5000TQ I had. And, as I currently have a V8 
as well, I can tell you there is a world of difference wetween the V8 lights 
and the 4000Q. The V8 lights the road up better on low beam than the 4000Q 
on high beam.

I'll have to go with Cobram's statement, they wanted to make sure you 
couldn't blind anyone on high beam ;-)
