[V8] hood opening, again

The two white plastic guides were floating free, as each one had a broken tab.
There was a nice metal keyring secured to the front sheet metal, through which
the cable runs.  Apparently that fix is an "almost" fix, as it leave a bit too
much slack.  I'll need to add a 2nd keyring, unless there is an adjustable end
like on a bicycle brake/shifter cable that can take up the slack.
