Hi All..

Scott, I seem to recall that the default combined ratings 
were explained on the site .. Lets say 60/40 mix .. There
was also a facility to adjust the combination to tailor it to
better reflect your particular driving cycles. 

I don't recall, seeing that one has this same ability to 
adjust for qualifying under the C.A.R.S. program though.

After looking for several days reviewing different vehicles and cross 
referencing other fuel economy reviews by non government sources, fueleconomy.gov 
appears to be biased toward American manufactured cars, listing them as 
having higher mileage figures versus similarly sized and equipped foreign cars. 
Does anyone know exactly how these new "Combined" fuel economy figures are 
concocted?</HTML>
