[V8] Spectral analysis V8 ABH and PT blocks

Bastian,
Ingo is right about what I said. I would change what you said a little and say that the vent system does not 'push' the oil into the intake, but rather the intake is allowed to 'suck' it in through these hoses. I had once thought about re-routing some hoses to try to reduce the oil consumption - but it isn't that bad for me. Whoever mentioned a catch can and drain to tank probably has the right idea - although you may be able to use a check valve or something, but I haven't looked at the system that carefully. I have a PT and it uses oil, probably to the tune of 1qt in 1000miles. It has great compression, I haven't replaced the valve seals, but I did on my last PT and it didn't help one bit. I also think that IF this problem gets worse with time or milage it could be due to sludge buildup in some passages, creating more vacuum or velocity in these restricted hoses - but that is just an off the wall theory. I just think it is normal for these
motors to use oil and I don't worry about it too much.
