[V8] Bumptey, Bumpety, Bump, Bump, Bump

Ingo,

I don't see a rubber bump stop. At least nothing that looks like the  
one in the manual diagram 42-70-1. There's nothing visible around the  
shiny piston part either. If I remove what the manual calls the   
'protective boot' and 'protective cap' then I could possibly imagine  
the top 1/4" of something. Should it be clearly visible?
