I had a mini road trip this past weekend. My weekly mileage driven can
usually be counted on the digits of my own hands and feet. So a 120-mile
round trip is a road trip for me these days. I took the black 93 from COS
to DEN.

I reset the avg mpg in each direction once I was on the interstate and
headed there/home.

It has Hankook Winter iPike W409 in 205/65-15 on urS4 winter wheels.

My cruise control is inop so this was with a conservative yet itchy
trigger foot.

COS at approximately 6000ft is a bit higher in elevation that DEN at
approx 5280 ft and you have to traverse a high point of about 7500 ft
along the way.

My mpg going was 27. Coming back 24.

I think that's pretty decent, probably better than my 5spd ever got. The
only thing that's done better for me was the CGT which got 30 going and 26
coming back many years ago.

Cracked me up the other day when I saw a claim for mid 20s around town and
over 30 highway for an 89 supercharged Thunderbird.

Not bloody likely.
