[V8] flashing cat light

There is a sensor in the back outside corner of the passenger side cat. It
is a heat sensor to tell you when/if the cats might be overheating.
However, if the wire to the sensor is broken for any reason, the light will
flash. Mine had an intermittent short and would flash almost all the time.
I was able to wiggle it and make it stop so I knew it wasn't a temp issue.

In other words, you may not have an issue with your cats at all.

I don't believe the warm start issue is related.

There are diagnostics for the cat sensor. There's a relay in the passenger
side footwell that controls the sensor. If you remove the relay, the light
will no longer flash. It will still come on initially when you turn the key
on and then go out just like normal when you start the car.
