[V8] A6 4.2L - pros and cons?

I hear repair costs are high for the reasons Taka mentioned, there
are tons of molded rubber hoses that fail - and are expensive to fix,
and the front suspension wears out quickly and is expensive to fix.
This is all from my Audi mechanic friend - who makes a lot of money
off A4's and A6's. Makes my V8 look downright cheap in comparison.
